The Culinary Breeding Network began producing video content during the COVID-19 pandemic, when in-person gatherings were not possible. In place of the annual Sagra del Radicchio festival, CBN launched a YouTube channel and debuted RAD TV—eight hours of radicchio programming celebrating the crop through talks, cooking demonstrations, and conversations with farmers, chefs, and plant breeders in the US and Italy.

Building on that momentum, CBN produced a series of virtual winter crop weeks that featured presentations from researchers, breeders, farmers, chefs, and other experts from around the world. The channel also hosts recordings of the 2022 Radicchio Symposium, virtual events such as Grains Week and the California Variety Showcase, as well as instructional cooking videos that highlight the flavor and versatility of diverse crops.

Together, these videos make CBN’s educational programming accessible to a global audience and provide a lasting resource for anyone interested in plant breeding, agriculture, and food.
