More Bang for Your Buckwheat
More Bang for Your Buckwheat is a four-year, USDA OREI–funded project led by the Washington State University Breadlab that brings together researchers, farmers, non-profits, and the Culinary Breeding Network to expand organic buckwheat production and markets in the U.S.
CBN’s role focuses on outreach, tasting-driven events, and market development—connecting breeders and growers with chefs, bakers, buyers, and eaters to elevate buckwheat as a flavorful, versatile grain.
As part of this work, CBN will produce Buckwheat Fest in summer 2026 at Wellspent Market, a public-facing celebration featuring tastings, education, and hands-on experiences highlighting organic buckwheat and the people behind it.
